Blanche Lamore's 100th

     When Blanche Orrilla LaBree Lamore was born in a rambling farmhouse on Cabot Plains, William Taft was President of the United Sates and the apple trees were blossoming. Now she lives in Lower Cabot in a house on West Hill Pond Road, partly built by her uncle. On May 26, 2012, seventeen presidents later, Blanche Lamore will be 100 years old.

LT GOV PHIL SCOTT IN CABOT Job Shadows Allison Cornwall, DVM

     March 28, just an ordinary day of vet calls for Allison Cornwall, DVM.  It began with a stop to check up on a couple of horses, and now she was enroute to the Long Field Farm, a goat dairy in Cabot, to do some dehorning of kids.   Allison arrived with her truck, fully equipped with every imaginable vet need, and even one Lieutenant Governor, Phil Scott, who was shadowing her job for the day.

      Spring is always a juggling match between getting the farm ready for the growing season and getting the  airplane ready for summer flying. Every year, all aircraft must go through an annual inspection, so recently I flew my C-170 from Catamount Airfield down to Rutland to perform  this in-depth procedure.

Marshfield Food Drop SATURDAY, MAY 12

Second Saturday every month

Food pick up at 8:00 a.m.

Schoolhouse Common in Marshfield 

The Food Drop is open until all the food is gone - which is usually by 9:30 a.m., so do come at 8:00 a.m. 

NEEDED:  Volunteers for the Marshfield Food Drop, second Saturday of every month - 7 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.  All ages welcome.  This would be a good school community service project! Call Winnie (426-3254) for more details or just show up at the Schoolhouse Common in Marshfield on the second Saturday of the month.

     After years of sitting vacant, the historic Cabot Inn will soon be home  to a brand new, family owned and operated restaurant.  Stan and Kathy Linkovich of Lyndonville will open the doors mid-May to offer the Cabot community a delicious spread of American fare.
